| *** New Program - "The Mini's" ***
Wish-Me-Luck is now offering a lesson program for riders age 4-6!!
Due to age and size, there are a few guidelines, in addition to
the normal riding lesson program rules that apply:
- First introductory "Mini" visit will be a 45 minute private lesson, which will include instruction on grooming, tacking up, leading, and riding.
- The cost for this first lesson is $45.
- After the first introductory lesson, riders will join a class with other "Mini's".
- There will be limited time slots for these classes, as "Mini's" will only ride with other "Mini's".
- All "Mini's" will be in one class until a group of 4 is complete. Then a new lesson group will be formed.
- Please note that only full weekly classes of 4 riders will be put into prime time spots.
"Mini" Lessons
- There will be an Assistant present at all "Mini" lessons of 2 riders or more.
- Lesson content will reflect the younger age and smaller size of these riders.
- 4 riders = 1 hour lesson
- If temporarily needed:
- 3 riders = 50 minute lesson
- 2 riders = 40 minute lesson
- 1 rider = 30 minute lesson
- Cost for each of the above lessons: $35

Instructor Bios

Jan Brousseau
has been a well-known instructor/trainer/coach in this area since 1983 when she
received her first Massachusetts instructor's license and founded Briarwood Equestrian
Center (BEC) in Templeton. She later advanced her credentials to the intermediate level
and completed to the advanced level in 1986. She continued to build and manage BEC for
more than 20 years, coaching extensively with her students locally, as well as rated shows,
Massachusetts Medals/Finals, New Hampshire Medals/Finals and New England Championships;
many of her students continuing on to success at equine colleges and competition in Nationals.
Jan began riding Western more than 30 years ago, showing for many years on the New England
circuit. Dividing her time between pleasure riding, showing and training, she extended her
studies and performance to Hunt Seat, Jumping, Competitive Trail, Team Penning, Gymkhana and
Dressage, with memberships in several riding clubs, AHSA, NEDA, and USDF.
Being an instructor has always been and continues to be her specialty and passion
in this industry. Though choosing to tone down the extensive showing, Jan continues
to teach students of all ages and levels, beginner thru advanced, in Hunt Seat,
Jumping, Western, Gymkhana, and Dressage. She has coached drill teams and
choreographs and directs an annual Riding Musical in which her students perform
(in costume) to music in solos, duets and quadrilles. She has also been director
and head instructor at BEC's annual Summer Camp Program for many years, as well as
spring and summer riding programs for Cushing Academy. Jan's approach to teaching
riding has always been one of emphasis on good foundation, knowing and fully
understanding the basics, safety, and every rider being also a good horse trainer.
Her students are taught the importance of hard work, dedication and good
sportsmanship.
